Have you ever imagined scratching a white rhino behind the ears, throwing lettuce into the jaws of a 2-ton hippo, or getting close enough to a tiger to count her stripes?
By adopting an animal at the Philadelphia Zoo, you share your love for animals by helping ours receive the best possible care. With exciting benefits such as personal meet and greets with animals and their keepers, there has never been a more exciting time to support the Zoo.
You can purchase an Adopt packet for as little as $50, but for just $150 per person, you can go where only zookeepers go! All Adopt packets include a photo of your animal, fact sheet, certificate and you’ll also receive an invitation to come to our Adopt Day celebration the first Saturday in October.
Adopting an animal for yourself or as a gift is both rewarding and fun. As an adopter at any level you will receive a photograph of your animal, certificate of parentage, fact sheet and an invitation to Adopt Day.

How your support helps
The Zoo is currently home to over 1,300 animals from around the world, many of which are rare and endangered. With that many mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians to feed, the Zoo’s annual grocery bill is over $500,000. Your adopt purchase helps us buy apples, carrots, crickets, hay, monkey chow, mealworms and much more. Thank you!
