Barnyard Interpreter

Duties

• Greets visitors as they enter barnyard; answers questions and provides information to visitors in a manner which is welcoming and encourages repeat visits; handles complaints and resolves problems in a manner which is helpful, polite, and accurate. Looks for opportunities to be helpful to visitors and other employees.
• Maintains safety in the barnyard; monitors guest and animal interactions and intervenes when necessary.
• Observes animal behavior and health while at station and reports any issues to Children's Zoo keepers.
• Assists with cleaning and maintenance of animal yards according to the direction of the Children's Zoo foreman.
• Assists with maintenance of Children’s Zoo grounds, facilities and equipment.
