Philadelphia Zoo Elects H. Craig Lewis to Board of Directors

America’s first Zoo Welcomes Newest Board Member.

(October 5, 2011) - The Philadelphia Zoo recently announced the election of H. Craig Lewis to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Lewis is former Vice President of Norfolk Southern Corporation. His professional expertise includes an exceptional career blend in law, business and government. H. Craig Lewis earned his Juris Doctorate from Temple University, attended graduate school at the University of Nebraska and attained a Bachelor of Science from Millersville State College.

“We are delighted to welcome Mr. Lewis to the Board of Directors at the Philadelphia Zoo,” says Jay H. Calvert, Jr. Esq., Chairman of the Board. “Mr. Lewis is a great addition and we look forward to his leadership and support during this exciting time in the history of the Zoo,” says Calvert.

Mr. Lewis actively participates in various other not-for-profit entities including: Aria Health System, Philadelphia Belt Line Railroad and is a Board member of the Andalusia Foundation. 

“I am delighted to serve on the Board of such a prestigious and historical organization,” says Mr. Lewis. “The Zoo is an important asset to the region and I look forward to being a part of its future dynamic development while preserving its impressive past.  I look forward to my commitment to America’s first Zoo.”
