Sponsor a Carousel Animal

In the fall of 2008, The Philadelphia Zoo opened a wonderful new Amazon Rainforest Carousel right next to our iconic Frank Furness Treehouse. The animals represented in the carousel are all endangered species indigenous to the Amazon region, and each is hand-carved out of wood from sustainably managed and certified forests. Add the delightful sounds of Brazilian music during the ride, and you end up with a most unforgettable experience that is both enjoyable and educational! This is the only carousel of its kind in the United States.

We are offering the opportunity for you to honor a family member or a friend while at the same time providing much needed support to your Zoo and its conservation programs by sponsoring one of these incredible animals. The sponsorship period lasts a full five years from our receipt of payment. Benefits include a recognition plaque near your sponsored carousel animal (excluding canopy birds and the harpy eagle) and on the Zoo’s website. Birthdays, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, and memorials are just a few special occasions worthy of this unique tribute.

Carousel animal sponsorships are available from $250 (birds around carousel canopy) to $10,000 (spinning anaconda basket and wheelchair-accessible turtle) and are largely tax deductible. Donors to this special carousel sponsorship program (except for canopy birds) will also receive 25 free passes to the ride.

You can view a list of our Carousel animals or find more information on our Carousel FAQ page.
