What is included in a Birthday Zoofiesta?
The Giraffe package includes admission to the Zoo and the Birthday Zoofiesta for 35 guests, one complimentary parking pass, private party space for two hour, a lively animal presentation from Zoo On Wheels, and a birthday t-shirt for the birthday child.
The Tiger package includes admission to the Zoo and the Birthday Zoofiesta for 50 guests, one complimentary parking pass, private party space for two hour, a lively animal presentation from Zoo On Wheels, and a birthday t-shirt for the birthday child.
Can I make substitutions to my child’s Birthday Zoofiesta package?
Because Birthday Zoofiesta package prices are all-inclusive, we do not allow any substitutions at this time.
Are there behind the scenes experiences, animal encounters or Zoo tours included in the Birthday Zoofiesta package?
Behind the scenes tours, animal encounters and Zoo tours can be added for an additional fee – please inquire about pricing and availability with the Zoofiesta Coordinator when booking your Birthday Zoofiesta.
What is a Zoo On Wheels Presentation?
Zoo On Wheels (ZOW): Our traveling naturalists will bring animals and bio-facts for an educational and exciting encounter with wildlife to your Zoofiesta. ZOW educators will bring two animals (typically a mammal, a bird or a reptile); presentations are 20 minutes. The ZOW presentation features animals that are appropriate for your child’s age.
During days of extreme temperatures, your ZOW presentation may vary.
If it rains or there is inclement weather, is my party cancelled?
Birthday Zoofiestas are held rain or shine. Due to the popularity of the Birthday Zoofiesta package, we are unable to reschedule your party date in the event of inclement weather.
Do I receive a reserved parking spot?
One parking space will be reserved for you (party host) in a designated lot.
Can I bring in outside food? Do I need to bring plates, cups, drinks, etc.?
Yes, you are permitted to bring in your own food. However, you will need to provide your own paper and plastic products and table coverings for two picnic tables and five round tables. If your event is catered, ARAMARK will provide all necessary paper products.
Can I bring decorations such as balloons or a piñata for my child’s Birthday Zoofiesta?
For the safety of our animals, piñatas, balloons (anything inflatable), straws, confetti, glass and noisemakers are not permitted on Zoo grounds. Please provide table coverings for two picnic tables and five round tables.
Can I grill at my child’s Birthday Zoofiesta?
To preserve the gardens and for the safety of our animals, staff and guests, the Zoo does not allow open flames or other heat sources.
What if I have more than the number of people stated in my package?
If you have purchased the Giraffe package, but find you have more than 35 guests, you will be upgraded to the Tiger package.
If you have purchased the Tiger package, but find you have more than 50 guests, please speak with your Zoofiesta Coordinator about our Zoo Picnic packages.
What is the Zoo’s payment and cancellation policy?
Birthday Zoofiestas must be arranged at least FOUR weeks prior to the party date. Payment must be made in full to reserve the party date via the Zoofiesta booking site. At this time, the Zoo only accepts credit cards as payment for Zoofiestas.
The Philadelphia Zoo reserves the right to cancel your party if there has been no communication from you THREE DAYS BEFORE the party is scheduled to take place. If you decide to cancel a Birthday Zoofiesta, all payments received are non-refundable.
Each adult and child guest, including the hosts, must have a pre-paid admission ticket to enter the Zoofiesta party space.
Philadelphia Zoo members must also be included in the guest count.
