The Zoo’s annual Halloween extravaganza is back for three fun-filled weekends!
Gather your ghosts and goblins, put on your favorite costume, bring a bag, and trick-or-treat throughout the Zoo. Boo at the Zoo is included with your general admission ticket or membership—get tickets now!
NEW date this year: Trick-or-treat at the Zoo on Monday, October 13!
Halloween costumes with toy guns and weapons and adult masks are prohibited.
What’s New at Boo
- Stop by the Trick-or-Tree House for a dance party with a live DJ, a secret candy station, and a haybale maze! Trick-or-Tree House is free for members with an additional $5 add on for a non-member family.
- Take a ride on the SEPTA PZ “Boo” Choo Train decorated for the Halloween season!
- Try your hand at Pumpkin Putt Putt on Impala Lawn, a six-hole mini golf course!
- Join our Costume Parade around Bird Lake for a chance to win a Family Membership! The parade starts at 1:30 pm each day and best group costume will be judged by Zoo Staff.
- Take a self-guided Frightful Flora tour of our gardens, learning about some of the special plants that have a spooky twist to them.
- Watch our animals enjoy the bountiful pumpkin harvest! Daily schedule available at Main Entrance turnstiles and on Zoo Map.
Special Member Hours
Trick-or-treat before the Zoo opens to the general public! This year, members get access to exclusive Boo at the Zoo hours, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM on the following dates:

Enjoy a more accessible version of the Boo at the Zoo experience with designated Quiet Spaces, Quiet Maps, and more.

Wake Up with Wildlife Premium Tours
For guests looking for guaranteed parking and a chance to beat the crowd, the Zoo is offering its popular “Wake Up With Wildlife Premium Tours” on Sunday, October 12 and Sunday, October 19. Tours start at 8:30 am, and for the Halloween season, include a final stop and tour inside The Solitude, the oldest (and rumored to be most haunted) building at the Zoo. Tickets can be purchased online here.
