Tickets are now on sale for Philadelphia Zoo’s Summer Ale Festival, an annual event featuring specialty brews, live entertainment, food trucks, and more.

With an impressive crop of regional craft brews, Summer Ale Festival has much to offer the beer enthusiast. This year, guests can enjoy more than 100 award-winning seasonal craft beers and fresh, local fare from the region’s hippest food trucks.

Summer Ale Fest is limited to those 21 or older with valid identification. Taps close 30 minutes prior to event end. This is a rain or shine event.

Early Access: 6:00 – 7:00 pm ($85)

Includes:

  • Entrance into the festival one hour early
  • Evening admission to the Zoo
  • Souvenir tasting cup
  • Unlimited beer sampling

General Admission ($65)

Includes:

  • Evening admission to the Zoo
  • Souvenir tasting cup

Non-Drinker ($35)

What is Summer Ale Festival?

Summer Ale Festival (SAF) the Zoo’s annual craft beer festival returns for another year of specialty brews, animals, live entertainment, games and more. In addition to offering a night of fun and memories for adults only at one of Philly’s top cultural attractions, Summer Ale Festival supports Philadelphia Zoo in its mission to create joyful discovery and inspire action for animals and habitats.

Where is Summer Ale Festival?

SAF takes place throughout the Zoo’s beautiful gardens. The Zoo is located at 3400 West Girard Avenue.

What food options are available?

The following food trucks will be on site during Summer Ale Festival:

Byz.Empire: Mediterranean fare with a touch of traditional Latin American cuisine.
Calle Del Sabor: Caribbean and Latin cuisine, with burritos, tacos and meal platters
Deke's Food Truck: Slow-cooked BBQ with in-person locations in Manayunk and Germantown
The Fabulous Fig: South Jersey-based all-vegan take-out restaurant and food truck
Grubaholics: Caribbean food truck
The Little Sicilian: Cherry Hill-based Italian cuisine, with riceballs, fried ravioli and cannoli
Mi Pueblito Tacos: Mexican cuisine
The Munchy Machine: Delaware County-based comfort food truck
Philly Hots: West Chester-based food truck serving sandwiches and other finger foods

What can I expect at this year’s SAF?

With an impressive crop of regional craft brews, Philadelphia Zoo has much to offer beer enthusiasts. This year, guests will enjoy more than 100 seasonal ales, delicious food live music and talented DJs.

What happens if it rains?

SAF is a rain or shine event and will still take place in the event of rain. For this reason, all tickets are non-refundable; guests should plan accordingly for inclement weather.

How do I get to and from the Summer Ale Festival?

Guests may make use of the Zoo’s drop-off/pick-up station outside of the Main Entrance when contacting their preferred cab service, Uber or Lyft.

Will the Zoo have other types of alcohol available?

A limited number of seasonal ciders and canned seltzers will be available.

Do members receive a discount?

Yes, members save $10 on Summer Ale Fest General Admission tickets (regularly $65) when purchased by June 30. Discounts are not available on Early Access or Non-Drinker tickets.
