Welcome Flamingo Chick
We are pleased to welcome an adorable flamingo chick to the Philadelphia Zoo family. Thank you to the over 100k voters to helped name the newborn! We are pleased to officially introduce you to Flaco!
Flaco hatched on July 12, 2020 is the first flamingo born at the Zoo since 2000. A few days after hatching, the chick left its mud mound and can be seen with its parents near the nesting flock. Covered in insulating down and able to walk and swim, Flaco follows its parents closely.Learn More About Our Flamingos
